We understand choosing a hearing care provider is a big decision. At Synapse Advanced Audiology, Inc. our number one priority is delivering exceptional patient care. Our staff is well-trained on a variety of services ranging from evaluations to treatment.

We believe great care includes establishing great relationships with our patients. Treating hearing loss is an ongoing process that requires regular follow-ups, maintenance and cleanings to keep you hearing your best. Our staff is here to support you not only during your initial visit but throughout your entire journey to better hearing.

About Our Audiologists

Catherine Fabian, Au.D.

Pediatric and Neuro Audiologist

Dr. Catherine Fabian received her doctorate in audiology from Northwestern University in 2008 after studying cognitive science and linguistics at UC San Diego. Known as “Dr. Cat” to her younger patients, her talents and interests lie in assessing and treating children, performing Central Auditory Processing Disorder evaluations, and providing rehabilitation through auditory training and hearing aid fittings for a variety of hearing and other auditory conditions.

Julie O. Johns, Au.D.

Diagnostic and Rehabilitative Audiologist

Dr. Julie Johns received her audiology doctorate from the University of Florida after completing her masters at San Diego State University. She is thrilled to be a new Cochlear Implant recipient (November 2023)! She is excited about her progress so far, and is optimistic about continued improvements over time. She is a Bi-Modal user, wearing a hearing aid in one ear and the Cochlear Implant in the other.

Shilpa Punjabi, Au.D.

Diagnostic and Rehabilitative Audiologist

Dr. Shilpa Punjabi received her doctorate from A.T. Still University at Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2011. Originally from Mumbai in India, Dr. Punjabi moved to San Diego in 2008 after getting married. Dr. Punjabi graduated from her Master’s program at Ohio University in Athens, OH in 2002 and then moved to New York to work at an ENT practice for almost 3 years before working for a corporate audiology office in Massachusetts.
